The rehabilitation of the Quinta de Fora of S. Bento Monastery included the repairing and strengthening of the existing buildings structures - the Casa do Sequeiro and old Casa do Caseiro - and landscaping. Casa do Sequeiro will be an Environmental Education Centre and comprises an auditorium, classrooms and exhibition/ events rooms. Casa do Caseiro offers a pedagogical kitchen, restaurant area, changing rooms and technical areas.

In Sequeiro the structural intervention consists of the restoration of vertical support conditions and the strengthening of floors, providing them with enough capacity to support the appropriate regulatory imposed loads adapted for the new use of the building. The wooden trusses of the exhibition hall were rebuilt.

In Casa do Caseiro we opt for the consolidation of existing masonry walls. The bench footing of foundations was executed, alongside the opening of the basement. It was created a concrete structure around the core. Roofs are formed by steel trusses or wooden trusses in the "tower".
