Tiago Mendonça was invited to share Portugal's experience in bridge management

Betar took part in a webinar held in Colombia on 4 September, entitled ‘Desafíos en la funcionalidad y mantenimiento de puentes’ (Challenges in the functionality and maintenance of bridges), promoted by the Sociedad Colombiana de Ingenieros.

Tiago Mendonça was invited by the Portuguese Order of Engineers to present the Portuguese success story in the management of Works of Art, which is the GOA.

Through a presentation on ‘Bridge management in Portugal and new challenges’, the managing partner shared Betar’s experience, emphasizing the importance of maintenance to guarantee functionality and safety throughout the lifespan of bridges.

The GOA was created by Betar in 1998 and the Construction Management System is now a widespread tool and methodology throughout Portugal and abroad.
