Second Betar art exhibition
The second art exhibition organized by Betar, featuring new works by the artists who won the José Mendonça Prize, will be on show at the Guarda Museum from October 24 to November 9.
The latest paintings by Laura Caetano, Guilherme Figueiredo, Ana Malta and Francisco Venâncio will be exhibited at the Evelina Coelho Art Gallery, at the Guarda Museum, in a total of 23 paintings.
Co-commissioned by Guilherme Godinho and Ângela Alves, and with the support of Guarda City Council, the second art exhibition organized by Betar presents the new works produced by four of the five artists who won the José Mendonça Prize – 1st Betar Plastic Arts Prize, which was awarded in July at the Grémio Literário, in Lisbon.
Over the course of 12 days, the artists took part in an Artist Residence, promoted by Betar, at Quinta de São Lourenço, in Mondego Valley, Guarda, where they were inspired to produce the canvases that are now part of the exhibition.
With the aim of contributing to the dissemination of culture, Betar’s main objective in this initiative is to promote the work of these young Portuguese artists.
