9th African Transport Technology Transfer Conference
Betar took part in the event with the theme ‘GOA - Reshaping Bridge Management with AI, 3D tools and BIM’
BETAR took part in the ‘9th African Transport Technology Transfer Conference’, at the invitation of Mozambique’s National Road Administration (ANE), organised by ANSANRA – The Association of Southern African National Road Agencies, which took place in Maputo between 21 and 23 May 2024.
On the panel entitled ‘Building Resilient Transportation Infrastructure for Socio-Economic Development’, Tiago Filipe spoke about the innovation project recently developed by BETAR to integrate new digital tools into its Asset Management system – GOA, entitled ‘GOA – Reshaping Bridge Management with AI, 3D tools and BIM’.
It was possible to reaffirm the advantages that this system – already successfully used in more than 400 bridges in Mozambique and Malawi – has in the management of these assets, and to attest that the transition to the new ‘industry 4.0’, as well as being a challenge, is also a great opportunity, and that BETAR is constantly seeking to develop its product to keep up with the ‘state of the art’ in the management of bridge-type assets.
Participation in this conference was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with various relevant stakeholders in the region’s transport infrastructure sector (Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swazi-land, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe), and to reaffirm the BETAR Group’s commitment to continuing to be a benchmark in the sector in Mozambique.
